In collaboration with The Turquoise Mountain Myanmar Jewellery Project, Ico & the Bird has created a series of good luck charms and pendants based on the seven days of the week. Conceived by the Monks of Ancient Burma and called the ‘Mahabote’ (Little Keys), these figures decorate the famous Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon and are said to hold the keys to one’s fortunes.
Using Burmese gold, known worldwide for its rich color, each piece is ethically produced and helps promote sustainable livelihoods for the artists from Ramree Island, in the Rakhine State of Myanmar.
