Ico & the Bird Fine Jewelry was founded by designer, Juliana Domenico (Ico) Carr and inspired by her world travels, searching for the most beautiful and unique gems to incorporate into her designs.

Gemstones have always been a passion for the designer. She spent the first five years of her life in Brazil, a country known for some of the world’s most striking and rare stones. Her earliest memories were of playing with giant, loose aquamarines in her mother’s jewelry box and arranging them into designs.

Working primarily in 22k matte gold and hand-picked gemstones, Juliana works with master craftsmen from around the world, employing ancient gold-smithing techniques in the creation of singular pieces that will be treasured for generations.

Her background as an accomplished classical pianist, ballerina and former actress, informs each design in jewelry that always tells a story.

Juliana holds an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from The George Washington University. She also holds a Graduate Gemology (GG) degree from The Gemological Institute of America and Graduate Fine Arts from UCLA.
