Gem Story

Sea merchants believed mermaid tails were made of aquamarine and would carry it in their pockets to protect them from the fear of drowning. Egyptians adored the blue hues and believed it was a stone gifted as a symbol of happiness.

Aquamarine is a variety of beryl, placing it in the same family as emerald and morganite. It comes in a variety of colors, ranging from sky blue to a deeper, intense bluish green, similar to the deeper waters of the ocean.

The gem is considered a lucky stone that brings good fortune and harmony to the wearer. Its’ vibrations are soothing, bringing inner calm and peace.

It is also known to bring love to the lonely heart and facilitates happiness and fidelity in marriage.

It is said that when the stone is held underwater, it seems to completely disappear.

Aquamarine is the birthstone for March.
